July has started and it means that Fashion-season for Men’s Spring/Summer is over.
We kicked off at Pitti Uomo in Florence on June 11th until June 14th. From There we go straight to Milan to see the latest Men’s Spring/Summer collections from various brands like: Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Dsquared2 , Gucci and so on.
With only a long-weekend in Milan, everybody is going to Paris. Where it was a more hectic than-ever. The olympics in Paris will be hosted in the capital of France this summer 2024. So it was quite a different Paris-Fashion-Week than usual. Haute-Couture was following straight after The Men’s Spring/Summer collections. The speed for reporters, influencers and other people who work in fashion, was faster than ever. From place to place, from event to event. No time for reflection or anything like that.
But let’s kick of with shows from my favorite-designers, where we can ask ourselves what does Mens’fashion means today? What can we wear next: Spring/Summer 2025?
Pharell Williams is now in charge of Louis Vuitton Men’s collection and for his Men’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection. He wanted to symbolise togetherness. Which I think is a great symbol to showcase in a collection. Especially now in a era where we have a war going on between Israel and Palestine . A war between Ukraine and Russia. People more and more are getting separate from each other.
Creative Director for Dior: Kim Jones. Placed huge sculptures at the venue : Hylton Nel. Where he send out a sweater: Dior for my real friends. Which you can translate to your own bubble. Because real friends are most of time a few. And that’s more than enough.
Youthful optimism is what Raf Simons saying to the reporters after his latest Spring/Summer 2025 collection For Prada. Something we should all embrace, because fashion can make you feel that in a certain way!
Maybe it’s me, or not only me, but Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer 2025 collection reflects tailoring in such a amazing-way. That you want to wear it right-away. Relaxed costumes, natural Fabrics. Sleeves sweaters that you can wear during the evening as a nice addition to your outfit. Summer stripes polo-shirts that you can match with your favourite pair of shorts next Spring/Summer 2025.
Dolce Gabbana’s latest fashion show was a quick-reminder of what this dynamic duo can bring to the runway, and we should never have doubts about that.
For Belgian-Designer Dries van Noten it was a special-day, because he says farewell to the fashion industry as a designer. Fore some people an emotional moment, for others not. He stared his first Fashion-Show in 1991. Everything comes to end, And you know that nothing last-forever, even not for Dries.
